RE: How to move pictures from camera to e-mail in Vista
If you want to email a picture without uploading the picture to your computer---I don't understand why you'd want to do that, but that's how I interpret the OP---here's what you do (I have XP, not Vista, but I imagine the process is similar):
1. Open an email
2. click down in the body of the text
3. Click to insert a picture
4. Click BROWSE
5. Browse your way to My Computer
6. Continue Browsing to your memory stick (or whatever)
7. Click on the particular picture you want in the email.

New Driver's Seat - Opinions?
I want a new, more comfortable, driver's seat for our Jayco Seneca. Anybody have opinions about what to get or where to shop?

RE: Camping chairs of comfort?
Take a book with you when you shop chairs. If you're still happy with the chair after reading in it for half an hour, it's the chair for you.

RE: Motor Home registration
We just started full-timing. We chose a Texas domicile. Escapees makes registering in Texas easy. One thing they didn't tell us, we needed a bill of sale for some reason. Luckily, DW is very organised and could put her hands something close enough.

RE: Travel Trailer vs. Class C...Which one?
Our Jayco Seneca has semi-automatic levelers. They're very easy to use; you don't get out of the driver's seat.
We had a fiver, and now a class C. With the C, it is much easier to make camp or strike camp.

RE: Can't open coach door sometimes
It turns out to be the pins, I think. They are sticking out enough that they are wearing grooves in the door frame. I don't know how to adjust them, but we're scheduled into the shop for other work next week anyway.
Thanks for all your ideas and suggestions.

Edited to change "siding" to "door frame."
Can't open coach door sometimes
Sometimes we can't open our coach door. It is not locked. No amount of pounding or working the latch makes a difference.
Then, later, it will open normally. We don't have any correlation with anything; it's not like it won't open, say, when we're on jacks, or in the morning. It's only done this maybe three times. It's a new RV.
The problem seems to be at the latch, as opposed to a corner of the door.
Has anyone else had similar problems?
We're in a Jayco Seneca.

RE: Class C wandering
We bought a Jayco Seneca that handled great. That was maybe three years ago. We just bought another that handled badly. Read all these threads about track bars and sway bars and aftermarket shocks, and such, and was ready to spend some real money to fix it.
My first mechanic told me, no, it's supposed to work like it is. He didn't have the stuff to align something that big, so I went to another mechanic. He said it already has good sway bars and shocks. He aligned it for $180. Now it drives good.
He greased the "drag links" too, said they were dry.
It's still a little bit squirmy---particularly at 70mph, which I only do to test the handling/suspension---but he says that's the goodyear tires. He said that'll get better as they wear down. He said next time get Michelin. The tires on our previous rig were Michelin.

RE: Help with tire selection?
My mechanic warned me against putting goodyear tires on large vehicles. He said that they are prone to cupping, and that they therefore need to be rotated more frequently.

RE: Connecting Canon SD1000 to PC Problems, HELP!!!
Uploading from camera to computer is slow. I read the memory stick (or whatever) with a card reader. That's much faster, and doesn't involve installing the camera software.
RE: Jayco Seneca Springs
Talked to people from Jayco today and they didn't seem to be very helpful. They told me unless the springs are broken or faulty they will not upgrade the springs.
I was just told the other day by the service manager at my dealer that Jayco told them that they would no longer do any chassis and suspension upgrades. Any problems need to be directed to GM. I was not really sure what he meant as it did not affect me but now it is clearer.
That's scary stuff. Our dealer got us to take delivery by assuring us that Jayco would make the suspension/handling problems right. We'll take him at his word, though. But I sure wouldn't buy one that didn't handle right without that assurance.
Dirtcloud, just don't buy it if you don't like the way it handles.

RE: Buying from rvdirect
Last time we bought a Jayco, we bought from RVD. We picked it up in Indiana (back then you could do that). We scheduled three days right there, camping nearby at night, and going back for more service the next day. We strongly recommend allowing time at the pick-up point for such service.
Then we drove 1100 miles home to Kansas, by which time it was several ways destroyed. The bedroom door, for instance, had fallen out of the ceiling. My ingenious mechanical brother put it back together for us, so we could go on our vacation.
We then made an appointment at a shop in Anchorage Alaska. We drove there, and by the time we got there, we had plenty of problems for them. They were great! Book ahead; you can always cancel.
When we got back to Kansas, we had slide problems, and went to our closest Jayco dealer (2.5 hours away). They were great too. We never got any feeling that we were treated differently because we didn't buy from them.
But this time around, we did buy from them. We did an internet search, getting prices from RVD and other places. We didn't ask the locals to match RVD. We just asked them to split the difference, beating Nebraska by $1000. They were happy to do it. In which case, we were happy to buy local.

RE: Metal valve stems all the same?
you want the solid. flex can have issues from what I have read on here. Just do a search for Valve stems
I got em from Chuck the Tire Man
TireMan
I feel a lot better - and easy to air up the tires..
Just took em to a local Truck tire Shop - they put them on for me.
Not the cheapest thing I've put on RoadAbode, but gives good piece of Mind every time I check em or add air in just a few min.
Oh - and I talked to his wife Sue on the phone...Pleasant as could be - nice to talk to "the owners wife" and not some uncaring operator...
She just had a stroke. Being med-evaced. He won't be answering the phone for a week or two. So, patience in trying to hook up with him; and give him good thoughts when you do.
We have a Jayco Seneca. They come with aluminum wheels. Last time we got a Seneca, there was some confusion on the phone, and then the realization that we have aluminum wheels. So, if you have aluminum wheels, open with that information.
Last time, I understood him to say that he couldn't help me since my wheels were aluminum. I called back this time, to see if that had changed. He said he still couldn't help me---except for the inners. But the inside tires are the only ones you need help with anyway, right? He said I'd need extensions for both if I had steel wheels. That's when he interrupted the conversation to say that he had a medical emergency, and that he'd be happy to explain more in a week or two. A remarkably patient guy.
RE: File sharing
I'm Windows XP. My wife is Windows Vista.
The book is A Game of Thrones. It comes in four downloads. I've never managed to burn the second one, so the whole book may be something more than 24 disks.
Gas Pumps That Cut You Off At $75
It's frustrating to have to swipe the card twice and then go in and negotiate with the cashier to finish my fillup. Are there gasoline brands that don't do this?

RE: Fuel tank hard to fill up completely
I had an econoline, not an RV, just a regular Ford van. I had to stick just an inch or two of the pump thing into the input hole, and then set the pump on slow.
File sharing
I downloaded a book from audible.com.
I burned it to disks with Nero, but they wouldn't play. Audible explained that only iTunes is licenced to burn disks from their books.
So I tried again, using iTunes. About twelve disks into the book, the disks just quit burning. I tried again, same result. I could try again, but so far it's been a big waste of disks and time.
So I thought I would try it from my wife's computer. I tried emailing the book to her, but got an out-of-memory error.
I could, I suppose, try to negotiate downloading the book from Audible again, without having to pay for it a second time.
But our computers do WIFI. Can we somehow put them in touch with each other so that I can send her my audible files over WIFI? And, if so, is that something I can be taught to do on this bulletin board?
In the alternative: There's something fishy about how Audible says that only iTunes is licenced to burn disks of Audible files. That suggests to me that other programs are capable, just not approved of. Does anyone know of such a program?
Did I forget to ask the right question? I will happily entertain answers to questions I didn't think to ask. :D
